DIY Bath Salts & Oils

These are such cute Christmas gifts or cute little ready-made self-care products for yourself.

WHY USE BATH SALTS?

Bath salts have lots of benefits such as moisturising the skin, decreases stress, helps insomnia, soothes pain, removes toxins, improves circulation and more.

Rose petals aren't just for looking pretty either. They soothe irritated skin, brighten your skin and tightens pores for a smooth appearance. They also enhance your mood as the petals give off a naturally calming scent.

WHY USE ESSENTIAL OILS?

Essential oils bring even more healing benefits. By adding them to your bath you are amplifying their benefits as they can be absorbed into the bloodstream via the skin but also via inhalation through the lungs. Bringing great healing for your mind, body and spirit, which you know is my passion. To come back into your Soul Alignment physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Bath/Foot Salts

INGREDIENTS
8 tsp Epsom Salt I get mine from Home Bargains as its cheaper most of the time.
6 tsp Himalayan Salt
A sprinkling of Dried Rose Petals
4 x 30ml Glass Jar
2 x dishes *optional

DIRECTIONS
Pour all salts and petals into a dish and mix. Then place a jar in the empty dish. Scoop the salts and petals from the other dish, filling the jar, allowing the 2nd dish to catch any bits that miss the jar. Continue until all are filled up and voila, you have your bath salts ready-made.

You can also add other dry ingredients if you wish to experiment, such as lavender buds, calendula flowers, chamomile flowers.

Bath Oils

INGREDIENTS
50ml Bottle - The bottle says 50ml but I ended up with 60ml in my bottles and still had space for more.
60ml Sweet Almond Oil
Funnel
Small jug
Option 1 - great for chronic/debilitating illnesses. If you suffer from fatigue, pain, digestive issues. For children, I would leave out the Tea-Tree or reduce it to 3 drops.
8-10 drops Mandarin
6-8 drops Tea-Tree
8-10 drops Helichrysum

Option 2 - great for relaxation, anxieties, tension and stress.
12-14 drops Lavender
4-6 drops Ylang-Ylang
3-5 drops Lemon

Option 3 - great for joint pain, insomnia, tired and tight muscles, also good for when you feel bunged up.
5-6 drops Black Pepper
6-8 drops Marjoram
5-6 drops Vetiver

NOTE - I personally get Tisserand essential oils and carrier oils.

METHOD
Pour the oil into your jug, then add the essential oils and mix. Place the funnel on top of the bottle. Pour in your mixture and you're done. It's that simple. Add approx. a tablespoon to your bath. Add more or less depending on your preference.

You can use this oil with your salts in your bath, or foot-bath or you can even use it as a massage oil.
