Why I Panicked After Booking My First Retreat (and Why You Should Come Anyway)
Funny thing about hosting my first-ever weekend retreat—I booked the perfect venue, all ready to go, and then... I panicked. Full-on, hide-under-the-duvet level panic.
Why? Because fear of failure has a way of crashing the party. My brain decided it was safer to keep this amazing idea hidden than to risk putting it out there and hearing crickets (or worse, gulp rejection). But the truth is, I’m passionate about this retreat. It’s not just a weekend escape; it’s a chance for people to find themselves again, to take a fucking breath, recharge, and reconnect with what matters.
So here I am, pulling myself out from under the duvet to tell you why this retreat might just be the best thing you’ll do for yourself this year.
Why step into the unknown?
Now, I’m not saying it’s easy to step out of your comfort zone. Trust me, I’ve been there. But here’s the thing—your mind might tell you it’s safer to stay stuck in the same old routines, but the magic happens when you take that leap. The unknown can feel scary, but it’s also where growth, joy, and those unforgettable moments live.
As Elsa so wisely sings, we’ve got to head “into the unknown” (Come on, you know you sang it too.)
What’s the big deal about this retreat?
It’s called Coming Home to Nature for a reason. Held in the Forest of Dean, it’s a sanctuary where you can let nature do its thing—healing, grounding, and re-energising you. Think of it as a weekend where the forest becomes your living room (minus the mud) and you can finally let go of the constant doing.
Here’s the vibe: sound baths that melt your stress away, forest walks where the trees basically hug you back, and good food cooked by someone who isn’t you #winning. There’s also laughter—lots of it—because healing doesn’t have to be all serious and solemn.
Who is this for?
Answer me this… Are you:
So burnt out you’re basically running on fumes?
Living in a fog that makes basic adulting feel like walking through mud?
Ready to scream the next time someone asks, “How’s it going?” or worse, “Muuuum?”
Drained. Your batteries have been on 1% for way too long and need a proper recharge?
Desperate for someone else to cook, even if it’s just for one bloody weekend?
If you’re nodding so hard your neck hurts, then guess what? This retreat was made for you. You deserve it. It’s your permission slip to pause, exhale, and let someone else handle the details for once.
Ready to say yes to yourself?
If your soul is screaming, “YES, THIS IS WHAT I NEED,” then let me officially invite you to Coming Home to Nature. This is your weekend to reset, recharge, and reconnect with who you truly are—without the guilt, the cooking, or the endless to-do list.
