New Year's Resolutions

Every year everyone gets a little hyped up with the new year, new resolutions, new goals etc.

My thoughts...

I don't think you should wait for a new year or a new month or even a new week for that matter to start something new. When you have an idea or set a new goal you should start it then and there! Why wait?! You're just delaying the process, which means you could achieve it so much quicker if you took action straight away.

I VERY nearly did it myself.

In December I decided in 2019 I needed to work on my consistency in all areas of my life. My main focus is on my blog and YouTube and I thought I'll start in the new year BUT then I thought why should I wait…what am I actually going to achieve by waiting? Absolutely fuck all, that's what!

I've now written 4 blog posts and done 3 videos all because I decided to just go for it.

NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG…

I am completely up for setting goals for the year, making vision boards, making plans etc. I think it's important to have a focus, to know what you're working towards and where you want to be. You also have to really work hard towards your goals and be consistent (again...I'm working on it) in what you do.

I fully believe that consistency is key, I've just not found my bodies ability to a consistent pattern...yet!! But I will. The majority of new year resolutions fail because so many lack consistency (like me) once the initial motivation has worn off. The biggest changes happen in our unmotivated times where we push through, like going to the gym when you're feeling a little blah or not eating the whole bar of chocolate or writing a blog when sitting at the computer seems like such hard work.

We all have our own excuses that we say to ourselves and I will 100% hold my hands up to being guilty of this. Somedays I think I'm too tired but it's just because I've been sitting on the sofa and got a bit too comfortable.

I'm learning for me I need to make clear plans, write everything down, create lists for each week with my targets and set myself a schedule that works for me and my body.
